Rainer Thiele was born on 8 November 1953 in Unna and moved to Berlin in 1978. In 1984 he successfully passed the tax consultant state exam and took over an accountancy firm in Berlin Zehlendorf with six employees two years later. 2001 Bernd Plötner joined as a partner and 2006 they merged together with Herrmann + Peinelt to what is now HPTP GmbH.
At HPTP Rainer Thiele is one out of five managing directors, leading two teams. In his work as a tax consultant he focuses on the real estate sector as well as questions of enterprise succession and formulation of wills. But his true passion is the non-profit sector. Rainer Thiele is a certified foundation consultant since 2012, making him the first contact at HPTP for non-profit expertise. He represents and advises a number of big foundations and is well connected within the foundation network, also thanks to HPTPs association partnership at the Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen (Federal Association of German Foundations).
As chairman of the Loni and Hans Faust-Stiftung Rainer Thiele also has experience with foundation management. In addition, he is a member of the Krebsstiftung Berlin.
Since 12 years Rainer Thiele is part of the editorial team of the client magazine tatort:Steuern and gives lectures about his main tax topics. At HPTP he supports young professionals by holding regular workshops.
When young he was a successful handball player in Dortmund.. Nowadays, he is trying passionately to improve his golf handicap or cheers at men in yellow/black football shirts on the turf.
