Stefanie Horn is originally from Germany where she completed her Master’s degree in Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim. During her studies she worked in a research projects regarding attitudes toward foreigners, educational aspirations and social inequality. For many years she was engaged in several programs conducting interactive educational workshops for teenagers with the goal to prevent racial discrimination, Antisemitism, Homophobia, bullying and to empower youth.
She facilitated intercultural youth exchange programs between Israel, Jordan and Germany, designed an exhibition about Shoah-survivors which toured all over Germany, initiated a memorial at the Main Station in Mannheim for the deported Jews from Baden and the Palatinate, and worked as an educator in a former concentration camp.
Stefanie worked for a local NGO in Cameroon and for a German foundation in Washington DC. In 2010 she moved to Israel in order to carry out a research project concerned with individual security values and threat perceptions.
From 2011 to 2015 she was the Head of the German Department at the Leo Baeck Education Center in Haifa and in total she lived in Israel for almost 5 years. She was the manager the Arab-Jewish Musical Tour Step by Step Sauwa Sauwa to Germany which was supported by Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Stefanie gives lectures regarding Israel, attends Podium discussions and does intercultural consulting.
She is certified as a foundation-consultant by the Abbe Institute and established “Yashar – Foundation for German Israeli Perspectives” which she is heading as the Managing Director.
